Update on "The Tower of Scrabbel (sic)"

Ready to be gifted to my sister...

The feet and upper edges are painted in the color of the special squares on the board (i.e., "triple word score"; "triple letter score"; double word score"; double letter score"). I tried to make the "background" color of the table the greenish-gray of the other squares on the game board. Interestingly, I pulled the letters out one-at-a-time in a "random" fashion (i.e., without choosing letters or making words). A few words did emerge (mostly short words). I had been looking at some of the small words that emerged "across" the pedestal. It wasn't until I took this photo, that I saw an interesting longer word going down the pedestal. If you enlarge this photo, you can see the word "spasm" on the right edge of the pedestal. Weird.
Here's a better photo taken in natural light...

Birthday card

When you live with a collage artist, you know you should expect a collaged birthday card. Today is my wife's birthday! Her name is Mary Carol, and she goes by "MC". Front of the card, and inner panel...

The front is an "M" element that I came across which included a number of designs and "M"s (I had initially contemplated using more than one. But the one I chose seemed to integrate well on the underlying Pollack drip painting (which I had initially thought I would completely cover. I painted the "C" on it myself to further "integrate" the image. The inside panel started with my use of the very 3-D looking present in the lower left-hand corner. The rest was added as after-thought. I think it looks like a theater card or an invitation. I'm pleased with how it all came together...as was Mary Carol!
